Walk into any special education room and you see VISUALS, VISUALS, VISUALS everywhere. They are there because that is how our students with autism make sense of the world around them. For some, it means predictability and routine in their day. Others use them to access the most basic needs like food or the restroom. However, almost all need it, at some level, for communication. By donating to our first project, you are helping make my students' school day less stressful by allowing me to create the necessary communication tools that they need to simply level the playing field. These classroom visuals are used for safety, communication, and academic support. I will use the printer and laminator to make visual schedules, manding strips, communication boards, safety/reminder signs, and file folder activities. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
