The majority of my students are well below their age level for reading. By giving them the opportunity to use a headset, they will be able to listen to audiobooks while following reading passages at their individual level. This will increase confidence, stamina, and in time get them to where they need to be. My students are more engaged and interested when they are able to read and listen to reading materials. They are focused and understand words much more quickly when they are able to listen to them while they read. Right now I have 4 headsets that are old and falling apart and 8 students who desperately need this type of device to help them succeed. All of my students will benefit from the headsets during our reading time as well as our intervention block.
