I teach three classes of ninth grade, one newspaper class, and the yearbook class. My students come from a variety of cultural and economic backgrounds. It can be challenging to keep the interest of a group of 35 kids each hour. Fortunately, the new standards are giving students more opportunities to work together in groups and to use technology. Unfortunately, the budget has not caught up with the new standards. Thus, technology and the proper classroom furniture has not become available. It is my hope that the public will intervene and help teachers like me get the materials we need to make our classrooms work at their optimum.

About my class
