If my project is funded, through the use of the Math Dictionary for Kids, my mathematics students will have individual access to resources that will greatly enhance their speaking and, yes, writing in class. They will have a clearer understanding of not only what is being said, but, also, how tho more clearly present their thoughts and presentations. Students soon discover that mathematics is both numeracy and literacy, and, while math is a "universal language," they need the correct words and understanding to properly navigate through their course work. Our discussions have the same passion; yet become infused with renewed accuracy and sophistication.
