It is difficult for 2nd grade students to sit in a desk all day, and I find students learn a lesson best when we sit in the meeting area. Currently, my students do an excellent job sitting in our meeting area but it is on the floor with no specific spots or a place to call their own. With these numbered carpet squares, my students can take ownership and get excited about their spot in the meeting area. By giving them a more comfortable place to sit, they can focus on learning. During the winter, not only is the floor uncomfortable but it's cold! Sitting on exciting alphabet themed squares will make learning that much more enjoyable!
