My job as a science teacher is to teach content that adheres to state standards, while striving to reach all students. While I tend to incorporate hands-on activities in lessons, there are some students who may be under stimulated by generalized methods of teaching. Our Enrichment program will give our high ordered thinkers the opportunity to enhance their educational experience by applying understanding about science content through project based activities. They will explore such concepts as the atmosphere and climate, heat energy, force and motion and habitats. For example, during the Habitat in a Bottle activity, our students will use such resources such as sand, soil and fast growing seeds to make a model of an animal's habitat and watch it evolve over time! Moreover, our students will use resources such as a large fan and a handheld fan to measure wind with a cup anemometer!
