These materials will allow for students to use their hands and wrists to help develop fine motor skills which is important for everyday activites such as eating and manipulating clothing as well as cutting with scissors, cutting and writing. The building toys will help students develop motor skills and hand-eye coordination, spatial reasoning, flexibility in thinking, language and vocabulary skills, a capacity for creative, divergent thinking, social competence, and engineering skills. The puzzles are great for spatial-relations, working collaboratively with peers, fine motor development, cognitive skills, problem solving, and hand-eye coordination. My students will benefit from the materials to help challenge their spatial awareness, their manipulation of small items and their imaginations. They will help them learn and grow through play.
