I have 25 students in my first grade class. Many do not have computers, and educational games other than at school. They are excited to learn to read and many of them choose to sit in the classroom library and look through books during free choice time in the classroom. They attend school in an older building that is full of caring and highly educated teachers with a passion for giving students of this demographic the best chance to become successful and productive members of society.
