Help our students swing themselves to a stronger body and awesome attention span! I am an occupational therapist in a barrier free elementary school in New York City. This means that our school is handicapped accessible and therefore we accept students in our district with mobility limitations (students using wheelchair, walkers, and poor balance). We are located in a high poverty area and are a Title I school. Our school has 6 special education classes and many general education classes. As an OT, I work with many of these students to help them address delays with their hand skills, strength, self help skills and learning difficulties such as paying attention and staying organized.
