This kidney table will help our classroom become more diverse in the sense that all students learn differently. We will be able to focus our attention more on grouping students together when a certain concept or skill is missed or needs additional work, while others are scattered throughout the classroom working on other assignments. With the kidney bean table I have requested, I will be able to reach all of my students during their small group time. As they are reading their leveled readers, I can easily reach across to help them find a word if they get stuck. Also, they will all be able to see the story as I am reading to them or the activity that I am modeling on the board. Working with small groups is so important. It gives my students a chance to work closely with me and no more than 5 other students on a similar level every day.
