The graphic novels will be used during a lit circle unit. Literature circles are student-driven. Students collaborate to decipher meaning from their books. Each class period, students undertake an analysis task to perform as they read. We will be able to teach analysis skills in an engaging way using graphic novels. Both collaboration and analysis are fundamental to student success. Graphic novels will engage my students, who are wary of high stakes testing and help them fall in love with reading. Reading for fun has been proven to be the biggest factor in reading success. Please help me fund this engaging project.
