In my classroom of 23 kindergarteners, I have many children who struggle with emotional regulation. This comes out in many forms such as refusal to work, yelling, throwing things, climbing on tables, hitting, pushing, and great frustration. This is affecting the entire class. One of the best ways to help young children understand their feelings and begin to self-regulate is through children's literature including read-alouds, enactments, modeling, and through play. With this project, I hope to build a rich resource of books for my students as well as a means for them to listen to the books on CD with a CD player as a part of the positive behavior support they are receiving in the classroom.
