Reading and writing is essential in life. Students develop their reading and writing skills through interest driven practice. Thus, appealing texts and activities are necessary. Scholastic Scope Magazine brings a variety of English Language Arts (ELA) content to the student in a subject and personally relevant matter. Students are exposed to grammar, vocabulary, research, and reading and writing skills in modern, student friendly topics. This magazine will allow me to supplement current lessons and units with activities, texts, and online videos and tools. In addition, the use of the magazine will allow students to take a break from traditional lessons and explore real world topics while exercising their ELA skills at the same time.
