We've all sat in classes at school where as soon as students come in to the classroom they have already started tuning out the teacher. As teachers we need to come up with creative ways to engage the students and get them actively learning. No matter what subject is being taught we must always consider the “Four C’s” of learning: Critical thinking, Communication, Collaboration, and Creativity. While many in school activities may focus on one of these at a time, the breakout experience heavily encompasses all four. Students need to work together, thinking critically and creatively, to complete each challenge. With the Breakout EDU boxes we will be able to divide our classroom up in to two teams that are competing against each other to solve clues in order to open locks and Escape the project. Using Breakout boxes students will be able to work together to solve clues and math problems in order to open all of the locks!
