Hydolabs would strengthen classroom discussions on seed germination process. Students in 5th grade have to understand that plants get their energy mainly from sun light and water and no soil. Living in the desert in Nevada brings a connection to show students how to be sustainable without the involvement of rich soil. These materials align with NGSS standards and would fit perfectly in our Las Vegas classroom. Currently building up our hydroponics lab for whole school to use. These materials would go towards understanding the seed germination process which takes 2-3 weeks before transferring plants to our hydroponics wall. I like to do multiple harvests throughout the school year.
