Our school has a unique population of students with many different needs. Boys account for 57% of the population. In addition, 48% of our students are from low-income families and our population of students with disabilities is 10% higher than the state average. These kids are strong, resilient, and crave knowledge and experience. An interactive and hands-on approach to education is essential for this unique population of students, but unfortunately, due to limited funding, some opportunities are not available without donations. By donating to this project, you will help provide the opportunity for our 7th grade students to see how body systems, organs, and tissues interact within a real organism by participating in a frog dissection, something that has not been available to our students in the past. Students will also be able to make real connections in our comparative anatomy unit as we look for evidence of change over time. This will be an experience students will not forget as they engage in and become excited about life science.
