Student safety is a number one priority. Safety glasses are a must. Students also have to be documenting their thoughts, revisions, challenges in lab notebooks. We need new lab notebooks every year. The current eyewear is over 4 years old and many lenses are scratched, making it difficult to see clearly. Students have to be continuously reminded to keep their safety glasses on. When they stop to note things in their lab notebooks they want to take them off. They take them off because they say they can't see very well. By having new, scratch free safety glasses, students will feel better about wearing them and will be less likely to remove them to "see better". We new bound lab notebooks students will be able to keep all notations in one place for all team members to review.
