My students are truly the best! They work so hard and try their hardest every single day. They are all from a very low income area of the inner city, and, unfortunately, at such a young age, know more than they should about the world. Many parents aren't involved, and don't want to be involved. I want to make my classroom the most inviting place that I an make it. I want them to feel safe and welcome every time they walk through those doors. Because we are in the inner city, we aren't provided with much, supplies wise, and financially. I think that every student deserves the opportunity, no matter what their situation is, to have the best learning environment. Students should be excited to learn in a classroom that is safe, enjoyable, and cozy, not a classroom that looks like a typical classroom with nothing in it.
