When observing all of the ukulele programs in my district, I was amazed at how responsive and engaged students were to learning music with a ukulele in their hand! The ukulele seems to be the perfect instrument for musicians and non-musicians, and learning the ukulele can be extremely rewarding and beneficial to all ages and grade levels. Through these instruments, I plan to teach my students about how to read, write, play, and improvise music on the ukulele. I also hope to give my students the confidence to perform what they learn on the instruments in front of an audience. Ukulele, for me, is an instrument that spreads instant happiness and I want to be able to share that with my students.

About my class
