My second graders attend school in a small rural district. Most of the students in the district qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. This is a supportive district that cares tremendously about the students that attend school here. These students are very motivated to learn and achieve new things, but they do not always have resources available to them. They are great kids and they deserve to have the very best, just like any other students. These projects are so special because it gives my students a connection to the outside world. I make sure to let them know that there are people out there other than me, their parents and family that care a great deal about their education and their future.
