Welcome to our page. My kindergarteners are part of a fabulous 90/10 Dual Immersion program that immerses children in Spanish and English from K through 5th grade. I was the pioneer teacher for this program twelve years ago. Ninety percent of the lessons I teach are taught in Spanish, including science and math. Dual Immersion gives my students the opportunity to become bi-literate! Bi-literate citizens are huge assets to our community and nation. My room is filled with 25 eager kiddos who are ready to explore and learn. My school is located in an affluent community. However, it is the only elementary school in our district to qualify for Title 1 monies. This is true because many of our students are economically disadvantaged and using the free/reduced lunch program. Approximately 40% of our students speak another language other than English. Our school is truly a gem in the crown of diversity!
