My first grade students are in different flexible groups for a large chunk of their day. We group for Math and Reading within all 3 of our school's first grade classes. It is their first experience changing classrooms and can be a little overwhelming. A fun way to organize materials can make their whole first grade experience better! It would make my students feel more at home in my room. The kindergarten classes that they are coming from were only half day and it is a huge adjustment for them to be in school for a whole day. They often have trouble sitting still let alone keep themselves organized. The new carts would help them feel more welcome and organized. The Velcro seat circles will give them the choice of where they what to sit when they are allowed to work around the room.
