These chairs will enhance the reading atmosphere in our literacy class. This is the first year for this class and many of our students are emerging as readers. By creating a relaxing and comfortable environment, our goal is to increase their interest in reading. In turn this will contribute to their intrinsic motivation to improve their existing skills. Providing additional seating choices will enhance my students' desire to read at school. If they begin to associate reading as an enjoyment rather than a chore, their literacy skills will begin to strengthen. Strong literacy skills are the foundation to success as a learner.

About my class
