Involvement in the arts is associated with gains in math, reading, cognitive ability, critical thinking, and verbal skill. Arts learning can also improve motivation, concentration, confidence, and teamwork. This year not only will my students get to experience making art from different cultures, but we will do art studies of different artists, read and learn about various types of art, develop teamwork with group projects, and find ways to incorporate subjects outside of art into projects. My goal is to give every student the chance to express themselves and have full creative control in every project. I want to ensure that they will have a variety of materials to accomplish this goal. Every student is capable of learning new things and the possibilities in art class are endless!
