We frequently use online platforms in our science class to encourage technology skills and to fully utilize our online curriculum. Our textbook has an online option to have the text read to students so they can learn to properly pronounce words. In addition, many studies show that we learn better when we see and hear things at the same time. Having headphones for individual students available at all times would be very beneficial. My ultimate goal is always to help my students comprehend the material as best as possible. Some of the vocabulary is not easy for all of my students and they enjoy being able to listen with these headphones as they go along. In addition, students enjoy being able to watch the videos on their own so they can pause and take notes as needed as well. This of course does not replace actual human interaction through teaching, but it is a great supplement!
