These hot plates are essential for the project based learning that happens in my chemistry classes. I currently only have 2 hotplates for classes with up to 30 students. This year students will work together to design and create their own thermometers. They will then test them using these hotplates. Another project I will do this year is an inquiry lab on the conservation of mass. In this project students will use hotplates to heat up baking soda and calculate the change in mass. My students are ready to design and create their own experiments to enhance their understanding of this years chemistry content. Can you help make this dream a reality?
