Students feel included and important when the teacher and classroom are equipped and welcoming. Effective tools enhance student understandings of mathematical concepts and build confident teachers and students. Confidence is contagious! Resources such as construction and butcher paper, allow more attractive representations of student gallery work. Those works are supported by coloring utensils, neatly printed guidelines and even functional calculators, which will be powered by battery sources requested. Students absolutely love reflecting on their work as it is posted throughout the year. Even in high school, students feel a great sense of accomplishment! As students work towards applying mathematical concepts, there is a thinking center in which I'd like to a table to post Scholastic Math journals for students to read and/or make personal connections that may not be evoked due to the lack of technology. In essence, resources build comfort and pride that equip students to explore beyond what the lesson has planned. Help our students soar!
