These new rugs will make my new students feel so comfortable in a classroom that is welcoming and warm, especially when they arrive first thing in the morning when we do our greeting and message board. The rug is educational as well-the alphabet, numbers and colors that make up the rug will definitely spark their interests. The smaller rug with the leaves will be for our book area. It will definitely entice the students to gather more in the book area. One of our main goals is to make the students feel like their classroom is a safe and secure place where they are free to learn and socialize with other students and their teachers. I believe that the learning environment is the first place to start this learning process.
