Students will become chemical detectives with these soil analysis kits as they explore the reason why some plants grow better than others. Which plants add nitrogen and which drain the soil from nitrogenous compounds? Which soil containers recycle organic compounds faster than others? How do water moisture and organic debris affect soil acidity (pH)? This kit makes this job easy to do and the refill kit will allow all 3rd through 6th graders to participate. This kit measures the N-P-K (nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium), as well as humus (organic matter) and pH (acidity) using solubility and colorimetry. It offers 50 soil tests each and 100 pH tests. the refill allows for double testing.
