This year, my class is going to start up a school based enterprise! We are going to create a coffee business called Java Jaws. Through this business, my students will learn job skills, social skills, and money management skills. The profit that we make off of this business is going to allow us to go on more community based instruction trips. These trips will help fund our work based learning, which gets very costly because of transportation. The trips are crucial to my students, because it allows them to apply the transition skills that we learn in the classroom. The enterprise along with the work based learning will allow my students to successfully transition from high school to competitive employment!
