I am of Polynesian descent. My father taught me to play as a child. I have been playing the ukulele to my students while teaching them academic skills and leadership. My students are fully engaged when I play, and many of them have asked if they could play mine. I'd love to give them the opportunity to learn a skill and confidence they can carry with them throughout their lives. I taught my former students to play, and many of them have come back to me to tell me what a memorable experience they had. Some still play to this day. My students will be able to share their love and passion by playing the ukulele and sharing leadership songs to our community. This will be an unforgettable experience for them, and I'd love to give them this gift just as my father has given to me.
