The materials being requested will provide my students with the tools to meet reading standards taught throughout the year. The Time For Kids magazines will allow my students to master nonfiction standards. They will also stay up-to-date on current events going on in the world. Also, the fluency cards will provide my students with much-needed practice to help them become better readers. Students will read a story a week in their reading range and track their progress throughout the year on a graph. We will celebrate all achievements. Finally, the picture books will act as mentor text to help my student understand concepts such as figurative language and theme.
