This year we have adopted a new math curriculum called Origo. My students absolutely love how much this involves using technology. It is great for all learners, especially my English Language Learners. It involves a lot of activities that require being interactive on the computer. Right now, we are just using our projector to do the best we can. Our class would really benefit from a Mimioteach. A Mimoteach would make our whiteboard into an interactive smartboard so that students would be able to come up to the board. It would allow the classroom to be more student-led than teacher-led. Using the Minioteach interactive whiteboard would allow me to reduce the amount of paper we use each week, and we could become a worksheet free environment. Students will have the ability to use the Mimioteach to come up and participate and engage in the math activities right on the whiteboard instead of using a wireless mouse to complete activities. This is a more fun and engaging way to get our students excited about learning! I have seen in 2nd grade how important and engaging technology can be. Mimoteach will allow my students an interactive way to learn not only math but many other subjects as well!
