These cushions will allow me to create a classroom community and love of reading. The cushions will bring freshness to the classroom that regular chairs and desks will not provide. This allows students to get comfortable with a book and read without being confined to a specific area. With these cushions I will be able to eliminate my kidney bean shaped guided reading table, which puts a barrier between my students and myself. By using these cushions, our guided reading sessions can feel more like discussions and be lead by the students, without me as the teacher being in a role of power. The cushions allow us to get cozy and read and learn together.
