Our classroom is looking to expand our musical knowledge to different musical instruments. Expanding our musical knowledge, means expanding our musical culture. Steel Pans are an excellent way to do this. Students feel immediately successful because of the beautiful sound and ability to read the notes on the instrument easily. Music written for steel pans is so much fun, you can look up on YouTube an example of a student playing a steel pan, These can be played alone or in small groups. It takes focus, and dedication to make a quality sound together. These students are willing to work hard to do so!
