Currently, our classroom has no carpeted flooring, just cold and hard floors. A classroom rug is central to my students' learning. Every day, students will be engaging in learning, and having a comfortable place to do so is necessary. For myself, I know that when I'm uncomfortable it is challenging to engage in conversations or any type of learning. My students will be using this rug every single day. The rug that I chose is a place where whole group learning will take place, as well as small group, and independent learning too. From small group math lessons, to whole group reading and writing, the rug will be a place to launch student learning. Besides a place to teach, it is also a place where students can lay out and dive into books, play games, calm down after a stressful moment, get to know one another, and so much more.
