I teach in a low socioeconomic area, where most of the parents have not had the opportunities that others have, so their level of education is limited which typically equals to low income. Our school is about 80% Latino with about the same percentage free or reduced lunch. In a district of 11 schools we are unique in that you can sense the love and determination our teachers have for our students. This feeling is experienced by most, if not all who enter our campus. My students are in kindergarten and they love coming to school every day. They are a very sweet and caring bunch, and they make me happy every day.
