Students need to be able to learn in the way that they learn best and are most comfortable. Not all students learn best sitting in a desk or at a table. Research shows that students who have choices and get to take responsibility for things learn better and are more motivated. What better way to give choices than when they start their day? This will allow them to feel like they get to be part of their learning, that they have a say in how they learn, and with students that have diverse learning needs, there is no better benefit for them. As students enter their rooms for the day, they would have the option to utilize the equipment in a way that best suits their learning needs. They would be used daily and would benefit our students who are not able to sit in traditional seating options like a desk or table. So many of our students have not been in school consistently or at all due to COVID-19, so sitting in chairs at desks is just challenging for them. I know I don't want to sit down in a hard chair at my desk all day, and neither do they!
