My students have chosen to give some Christmas cheer to the local nursing home residents. They will be able to use these pre-cut fabrics to sew together bed runners and then quilt for a little added warmth to the feet of the residents while adding a touch of Christmas to their room. My students are part of an afternoon quilting program that has chosen to do their project to give back to the community while also working on their own personal projects. Students work on this project during a half day community service work day allowing other students to see the project they are developing.
