Many of these resources were chosen based on the needs and learning preferences of my students. Items like the letter construction activity allow my students who need practice with letter recognition and handwriting skills to develop these skills and become confident learners. The fidget bands will allow my students with ADHD an opportunity for movement in a productive way that limits off-task behavior. Learning tools like the educational insights foam magnetic numbers board will help develop my students' number sense and give them access to an engaging manipulative. Other items like the Picasso tiles, Theraputty, and wooden pattern blocks will be used as calming comfort objects to redirect anxiety my students may feel and to cater to their sensory needs. The CVC Unifix letter cubes will help my students develop their reading and spelling skills by allowing them to decode single syllable words. Additionally, the guided reading strips will my struggling readers maintain their focus and help them refrain from skipping lines or transposing letters. Headphones will give my students access to multimedia by allowing them to listen to stories as many of them require accommodations in the form of text-to-speech. Sand timers will help my students visually see how much time they have left when they are engaged in an activity and will help them manage their time as well as transition smoothly. Finally, I specifically chose books that reflect my students' needs, as I feel it is important for them to see representations of themselves through text. With the use of these resources, my students will have access to learning aids that will enhance their learning and retention.
