Students learn better when they are calm and comfortable. Sometimes we all need a little fresh air and sunshine to feel calm and comfortable, not to mention space. The outdoor furniture I've selected will allow me to take my classroom outside and create a space for small groups to work outside (which they request to do all the time)! I do all I can to make the learning center a space that inspires learning, but we have the unfortunate fact that the space does not have windows. I want to create an indoor/outdoor classroom to take advantage of all of the benefits that fresh air can have. Being outside decreases stress, reduces anxiety, and gives us needed Vitamin D. Creating a space that meets these needs will help my students continue to excel and allow me to continue to improve our Learning Center for all students.
