Matching and Visual Discrimination is typically an early learner skill for student's on the Autism Spectrum. These skills are an important part of pre-language development. The Stages Learning Materials will help me to teach my students these skills as well as assist me in assessing their ability. My students will benefit from these materials that help to teach and stimulate pre-language development. The sharpies and highlighters will be used as a part of everyday programming. The sharpies will be used to make target flashcards and the highlighters will be used to signal mastered skills. The glue will be used during art time where we work on fine motor skills and following directions. The bean bag chair will be put in our, "our comfy area," so that the student's have a relaxing place to go if they are feeling overwhelmed. The ink will be used to print student's program materials as well as papers and materials that need to go home to parents.
