Social emotional skills are the building blocks for all learning and development. The ability to incorporate and use the requested materials such as the sensory toys and the Theraputty help facilitate exploration and naturally encourages the children in our classroom to use their scientific processes while they play, create, investigate and explore. These skills are needed to help my children navigate the chaotic world they often live in. The doll house will assist the children in acting out social situations in their home and community environment, which are often filled with stress and trauma and will allow teachers to assist in expressing their emotional needs in a safe and nurturing environment. The weighted blanket will assist the children by calming and soothing their bodies to help them focus on the task at hand.
