Have you ever finished a book and felt the absolute joy in discovering that there is a sequel? This is exactly what the middle schoolers at KIPP Adelante deserve to feel. Our students often disengage while reading because the texts aren't interesting to them and reading can be challenging. With the right book, all of this can change! If one of our student gets hooked on Diary of a Wimpy Kid or finds themselves envisioning their classrooms look like Hogwarts, then they are more likely to keep reading. We know that reading more books and more genres leads to better readers and writers--exactly what we want for our students! By contributing to our project, you will be purchasing some of the most popular middle school books like Ready Player One and Wonder. Having a complete set will ensure that our students have access to the entire series and will be able to sustain a love of reading since they'll always be eager for the next book. I can't wait to see the sheer joy on our students faces when they see all of these books!
