Support for this project will greatly enhance student exposure to more contemporary literature. Introducing novels that they can relate to will greatly impact their connections to similar works and universal themes. We are constantly comparing literature to other mediums of expression and creativity as well, and the incorporation of these novels in the classroom will spark these conversations and enhance overall comprehension. I aim to provide my students with something that they can identify with and promote self-confidence and awareness at an age when those feelings aren’t always necessarily developed or stable. The goal of this project is to assist with the development of each and every student entering my classroom.
