A diverse group of learners needs a diverse learning space! Just like adults get tired of sitting in hard chairs all day, students do too! Standard desks and chairs do not meet the needs of my students. Creating flexible seating options that they can choose from is essential to student learning and engagement. By donating you will help the learning environment of our classroom by giving my students more choice. Giving students choice will create a student centered classroom, which is necessary to keep them engaged in our learning throughout the whole school day. I want them to feel comfortable and at home in our classroom. Providing wobble seats, lap desks and stools will give my students the opportunity to sit comfortably and move around while they are learning. The wobble seats, which allow small movement, will be used for students to bring to their desk or writing table. The lap desks will provide another option for students who like to sit on the ground and work and the stools will provide students with a taller seating option other than their desk chairs. I cannot wait to see all of the things we can do with flexible seating!
