With the various building materials in the project, my students will now have a dedicated area in our classroom to explore STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) ideas. Through out our school day, students will have the opportunity to go to this space, choose building supplies and explore how our world works. The stand up magnetic board will be especially helpful in giving students a new perspective for building. Students will be able to create roller coaster designs that allow them to test and revise their creation. They will also be to create different styles of buildings and figures using magna-builders, pyramid stackers, design blocks and more. Have a wide variety of building materials will allow the students to experiment with how different materials work and which may be best suited for a particular design. Students will work cooperatively with their peers in this space. This will allow students to build communication and interpersonal skills! My students will gain experience with Engineering Design Cycle with these materials.
