First grade is such an essential time for students to develop the reading skills they need to be successful throughout their educational career and lifespan. I want my students to love reading and I believe this goal can be achieved by placing age-appropriate chapter books into their hands at a young age. All of my students will have the opportunity to have a copy of an early chapter book to read individually, as a class group, or in small groups. This will be a magical moment for my first graders as they improve their reading skills and begin to love reading.

About my class
