Special needs preschool students learn best when provided with differentiated, hands-on, visually appealing materials. The donations to this project will help to improve understanding of social/emotional development, pre-academic skills, and will help to improve fine motor function. I will use these materials to teach both large and small group lessons, as well as, to support student’s individual needs. All of the materials you see here already have a place in our classroom; meaning, my team has already planned for how, when, and where, these materials will be used. We just need your help in achieving this! The alphabet tubs will be used to teach our weekly letters. It will provide students with phonological awareness skills, while providing both visual and tactile support for students with differing needs. In my classroom, we are using the Zones of Regulation to teach our students emotions and self-regulation. The Feelings & Emotions Washable Dolls will be used in my calm down area to support this teaching strategy. The rest of the materials will be used in small group learning rotations or for free play.
