My 5th and 6th grade students are studying the fundamentals of music right now. I would love to be able to apply all they learn into an instrument as majority of them are not able to purchase an instrument. The deserve the chance to grow through music and experience the joy of playing an instrument. It would make a world of a difference for my students to have the opportunity to play a real instrument, as well as make all that we are learning more applicable. We are limited to only using rhythm stick and shakers right now which are more suitable for younger kids. 5th and 6th grades are more advanced and need challenge to grow musically and emotionally. Ukuleles would be a great tool to help them succeed, motivate, and show that they can do anything they put their minds into!
